Forest Floor Mushrooms Owner/Operator Brodie Barrie has been foraging and cultivating mushrooms for sale since 2015, but his interest in fungi goes back several years. As no formal education for mushroom cultivation is available, Brodie has traveled extensively to learn the trade. Learning from growers in Oregon and B.C he has developed a unique skill set, based on industry standard commercial cultivation techniques and low-tech permaculture practice.
Forest Floor grows mushrooms seasonally, April-November, and wild mushrooms are foraged locally throughout the summer and fall months in different areas across the Ottawa Valley. Through Forest Floor, Brodie also sells kits, grow your own supplies, and offers workshops on both cultivation and foraging. Forest Floor believes in producing high quality nutritious products, and educating customers about the often stigmatized and misunderstood world of fungi.
